After a careful read of the above, the cue is line of products. Yes, we are developing a line of skin care products that will contain our patented Adenosine Skin Technology. Our first goal is to accompany Easeamine (which will probably be renamed Easeamine Day Cream) with an Easeamine Toner and Easeamine Night Cream. (The actual names may change according to Divine Intervention.)

June is the chosen month for the debut of our Easeamine Skin Care Kit. Our current product has been further developed to be easier to apply to the skin and cosmetically elegant. The product will be in a beautiful jar container. The beauty of the jar will compliment the exclusivity, quality and efficacy of our patented technology.

Next in line is the Easeamine Toner. It has a light refreshing essential oils scent, which leaves the face feeling smooth, toned, PH balanced and prepared for the Day or Evening Cream. Easeamine Cleanser is under construction and will complement the skin care routine.

Each day brings with it new challenges and opportunities. Slowly, I am learning God is in control, even when I feel I am not. Some day, I will be quick to remember God is extravagant and He carries me when I am unable to walk part of the journey.

Life has its twists and turns, most of which are fodder for fiction.

Sister Thérèse, an attractive, thoughtful, sincere and brilliant past colleague, who has since married, guided me to be a man of gratitude. It is all about attitude and embracing life.

My personality is one that always walked to the beat of my own drum. Though it took me years to discover and understand the following: it is impossible to be a unique individual, following dreams and aspirations, while conforming to authoritative dictates that fluctuate according to whim! At times, Church leaders made whimsical decision that had and continue to have disregard for the individual. In my own life, I experienced fickle rules and regulations that were not only oppressive and impossible to fulfill (as a human being), but helped develop neurotic tendencies. I’m still getting over the symptoms!

Idealism is usually the trademark of the young. However, in the scheme of Catholicism, I was captivated by eastern spirituality, which beckoned my heart and mind. My early rigid existence was drawn to an alternative way of life that required being present in the moment, charity particularly when it is most difficult, and making informed decisions even when the majority disagreed. Certainly, the cognitive dissidence between the drive for perfection or being a beautifully flawed and responsible human being ripped apart my ideal world and made it delightfully habitable. So, here I am, overcoming dysfunction all the while desiring to give—more than receive.

I have discovered the necessary tools, which have enabled me to walk through my personal life-labyrinth; heart-felt sincerity, service and humility require confidence, a sense of self-worth and self-respect. In hindsight, once I began to understand these principles, I was able to celebrate life regardless of the politics, authoritative abuses and evil. Though it has taken awhile, I am allowing myself the freedom to have fun and be silly with friends, while being effective in making healthy changes in the world around me.

Reflecting upon my personal history, I am grateful for my life’s circumstances—the good, the bad and the ugly, for they have prepared me to be the man who walks in my sandals. The universe has collaborated to make my dreams come true. Now I want to help others’ resurface their dreams, while offering the tools of hope through education.

…An example: In 2003, when I crossed over the threshold of our property in Paxton, MA (where, in the near future, we will build our new monastery) I knew my feet were standing upon the place of my future home. The challenge—we had no source of revenue, other than donations, which was a cause of financial struggle. Yet after a twenty-minute walk, a brief discussion with the community members who accompanied me, we made the decision. This property was meant to be the home of our monastery. Well, this might sound like a nice story, however, the situation called for $600,000. Ouch!

Six months later, after lengthy negotiations and lots of prayer, I had in hand a signed Purchase & Sale agreement. There after, every day for five months, during my time of silence and solitude, I sat in the rocking chair of my bedroom, feeling a sense of dread. What did I get myself into? Am I crazy? Jesus—how are You going to provide me the money?

When the day arrived to pay for the property—Divine Providence provided. One would think, if God can provide in that situation, why worry? The abridged version: I am still learning to trust God. However, the subsequent hurdles get larger as time passes.

Why am I slow to trust in Jesus, when He has been extravagant in generosity? Once again, I am in heart-stop-alley, waiting on the Lord.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a French Jesuit visionary once said we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience. Obviously, my spiritual being is beckoning to exist beyond the confines of my mind.

The Catholic Church is composed of two elements: the human and the divine. The Divine nature of the Catholic Church is the source of all goodness, compassion, knowledge, wisdom and understanding, etc. However, when the human side attempts to interpret the Divine—“perfect love” becomes prey to the personality and potential whim of the individual(s). Regardless, the source of this perfection remains unchanged. Yes, the Church is governed by laws, particularly the law to ‘love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and strength; and your neighbor as yourself’. The ideal, in the hands of mortals is an aspiration, not an accomplishment. However, for those of us laboring in the trenches holding onto God’s inspiration with every breath, we do the best we can, accompanied by our flawed nature that is “weaker than the spirit”. I am in love with the very existence that heals me as it wounds me.

In my mind’s eye, I see a black, Asian, Hispanic, Latino adult with a bit of Caucasian, Norwegian-North Pacific ethnicity, sitting in a uniquely colorful boat, fishing for her family—of thirty (I love big families.) ‘Teach a man to fish…and he eats for a lifetime!’ … The lyrics, “I like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony”, begin to reverberate in my memory with a bit of distortion from a 70’s Coke® commercial…

Although the above sounds disjointed, as are most dreams, my desire to serve the needs of the poor and marginalized—through education—are not.  The emotional, spiritual, intellectual, cultural and physical poverty in the United States is relative to the quality and capacity of our educational system.

Why is the United States of America’s educational system ranked 18^th among 36 industrialized nations in the world, when the US is supposedly a World Leader? (Based on a 2009 study by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development)

Why is the United States ranked number ONE in the WORLD for the highest documented incarceration rate? (1 out of every 200 people is in jail.)

The answers to the above questions, in part, is due to the current inability of our educational system to adequately and appropriately educate and minister to the needs of our children.

As we sell Easeamine, we have made donations to different non-profit organizations in Worcester County Massachusetts. One particular donation was given to the Nativity School of Worcester. Like any good school leader/developer worth his/her weight, Matt Brunell, President of the above school, contacted and invited me to witness his school. (By the way, it is an all boys’ school.) Having had countless years to dream and develop the idea, I experienced my ideal at the Nativity School of Worcester. Holy…Mother…of…Mercy! I was pleasantly overwhelmed by the physical manifestation of one of my dreams.

The end of this story and the beginning of a new by-line is: I want to open an inner city school for girls…the counter part to the boys’ school.

While I was on vacation in late October 2009, my eldest brother introduced me to NCIS. Although not a TV enthusiast AND out of commission, I watched dozens of episodes. Myth-busters, Mega-Structures, How’d They Do That; the Military Channel, Discovery, and the Science Channel became the mainstay of attractions during my 108 of woken bed rest. The realization that I had watched too much TV occurred when I was capable of selecting buttons on the TV remote control—without looking. Then there were the commercials….

A troubling awareness broke into my reverie when a framed religious image on the wall began to move. Consequently, the state of my body and mind was not available for an authentic paranormal experience. This was the beginning of a deluge of random synapses that were mis-firing from a frying brain with a temperature of 103. Odd connections between otherwise unrelated ideas began to form. I began to ask the Lord, “How can I get 1% of the $1.6 billion pie?” When I discover this answer, and put it into effect, we will be able to create a school for inner city girls. I’m praying on this one…big time! This is one of our goals that needs to be fulfilled soon.

So…I was concerned about what people think. Prayer, time and too much drama cured me of the stink eye of others. With years of “philosophizing and theorizing” came hopes and dreams I shared with few. It did not take long before I awoke to the critique of pragmatists. To the contrary, my mother and father habitually adjusted to the array of future occupations, which flooded my imagination as a child and adolescent. “You can accomplish anything of which you can dream”, my parents would offer. Though my mind did not settle on one distinct profession, my soul found God and settled for nothing less.

The short version: Hope was my mainstay and time afforded me the opportunity to recognize a few essential facts of life. First, people come into our lives for a reason, season or a lifetime and they are all gifts. Second, miracles happen more frequently than the imagination can grasp and God is more powerful than any situation, circumstance or life event that may appear to overwhelm us. Third, when we become blind, deaf, mute or paralyzed due to pain, turmoil or tragedy—peace and healing are inevitable once we allow ourselves to take the first step forward. Forth, life is given perspective with death. When death appears at our doorstep the only experience we can take with us is love; everything else is trite.
